Johor Bahru’s Night Markets: Seven Days, Seven Delights
If you love street food, you would definitely love night markets, or pasar malam, that are in Johor Bahru(JB).
We have come up with a list of pasar malam that you can visit in JB. Each offering different types of street food, groceries as well as some household items. Each of the pasar malam are opened for each day, and around JB.
1. Monday: KSL Night Market @ Jalan Seladang
Its Monday and you’re in JB looking for a pasar malam, and fortunately you’re around city centre. The closest night market would be this one located outside of KSL Mall. Over here you can find tons of delicious food. For instance, seafood barbecue, fried dumplings, and crispy fried chicken.
Also, be aware of the cars passing through. Parts of the night market are accessible for cars to go through since it is a busy street.

2. Tuesday: Taman Pelangi
On Tuesday, you can visit Pelangi Pasar Malam.This night market has some hidden delicacies that will surely bless your mouth. The vegetarian popiah over here is a must-try, be sure to reach early as the queue takes a while.
Another must-try is the fried carrot cake (also known as Chai Tau Kueh). There are a couple of stalls selling this, so let your nose be the judge for the best one.

3. Wednesday: Bukit Indah
If you enjoy Malay food, you should definitely check out this night market. Although it is not the biggest night market, the length of it is about 200 meters. Be sure to check out each stall while you find tasty food here.

4. Thursday: Impian Emas
If the crowd is your concern, you will like this night market. WIth almost 3 streets connecting this night market, it allows this market to have a wide and shaded walkway that is perfect for a nice stroll.

5. Friday: Puteri Wangsa
This night market has everything you would need. From vegetables, to clothes, food and snacks. This night market is also great for Malay food lovers. Here you can get Nasi Ayam Penyet, Satays, and Nasi Campur.

6. Saturday: Ungku Tun Aminah
Some say this night market is the largest one in Johor Bahru. That’s because you can find almost anything in this night market. Things like clothes, household products and food.

Opening Hours: 6:00PM – 12:00AM
7. Sunday: Permas Sunday Night Market
Last on the list is located at Permas Jaya, not too far from Renaissance Hotel. This might look like an ordinary night market, but this one stands for its Thai and Taiwanese cuisine as well. Based on reviews, locals nearby often come here every Sunday.
If the food there isn’t to your taste, a food street is not too far from the night market. With over 20 different food stalls, you won’t find any repetition of the same food.
